The Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles announced Wednesday that they will honor the life of Baltimore Orioles’ player Freddie Gray with a baby blue duck.
Gray was killed April 12 in police custody after allegedly stealing a police van.
His death sparked a national debate about the use of force in Baltimore.
In addition to the team, several celebrities and organizations will donate money to Gray’s family.
The Orioles announced that the team will also honor Gray’s memory by having a blue duck named for him at Camden Yards in the team’s home stadium.
