A baby shampoo and baby high chair will go up for auction this week in Sydney’s CBD, after it became the first ever item to be bought at a New South Wales auction.
The $1.4 million Baby High Chair, an iconic piece of furniture in the New South Welsh town of Dandenong, will be sold at an auction on Friday for an estimated $500,000 to $1,000,000.
The baby high chairs was designed by renowned Australian artist John Cairns in 1952 and is regarded as one of the most famous pieces of furniture made by Australia.
The chair is a favourite among fans of football, with the player himself famously standing on it.
It is an integral part of the home-like home of the Sydney Roosters, and was a popular fixture in the local community until its demise in 2015.
